Transparent practices for how we handle your information and data

Last updated: June 25, 2025

We know privacy policies can be overwhelming, but this information matters. At Reasonable Tech Company, we're committed to being transparent about how we handle your data—no corporate speak, no hidden agendas.

What Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you sign up and use Lovelace, you may provide:

  • Basic account info – your name and email address
  • Authentication credentials – passkeys, WebAuthn data, and OAuth connections
  • Your code and projects – the stuff you're working on
  • Payment details – safely handled by our payment partners, not stored on our servers
  • Feedback and questions – when you reach out to us

Information We Collect Automatically

Like most applications, we automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Usage information – which features you use, session duration, and interaction patterns
  • Device information – browser type, operating system, and device specifications
  • Network information – IP address and general geographic location
  • Cookies and similar technologies – small files that help maintain your session and preferences

How We Use This Information

We use your information to:

  • Improve our platform – maintain service functionality and develop new features
  • Manage your account – process payments, handle subscriptions, and provide customer support
  • Enhance AI capabilities – improve code suggestions and AI features (without exposing your specific code)
  • Personalize your experience – show you relevant features and content
  • Send communications – deliver important updates and service notifications
  • Maintain security – prevent fraud, detect threats, and protect your account

Your Code Is Sacred

Let's be clear: your code is yours. We get how precious your projects are—they're your digital babies. We treat them with respect and never sell your code or share it with other users without your permission.

Here's what happens when you work with us: we store your code to power features like AI suggestions and debugging help. Our AI might learn general coding patterns from anonymized data across all users, but it never memorizes or regurgitates your specific code. Think of it like learning grammar from reading lots of books without copying any particular story.

Authentication Data

We use passwordless authentication methods and handle the associated data as follows:

  • Passkeys (WebAuthn) – We store only cryptographic public keys on our servers. Your biometric data (fingerprint, face scan, etc.) is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • OAuth connections – When you connect external accounts (GitHub, Google, etc.), we store access tokens and basic profile information as permitted by your authorization.
  • Email verification – We may send secure sign-in links to your email address for account access.

When We Might Share Your Info

We're not in the business of selling your data. Here's the only times we might share your information:

  • With our service partners – cloud hosting, payment processing, that kind of thing (they're contractually bound to protect your data)
  • When you say it's cool – like connecting your GitHub account or other integrations you choose
  • If the law requires it – court orders, legal investigations
  • Business changes – if we get acquired or merge with another company (with strict protections in place)

Your Rights and Control

You're in charge of your data. Depending on where you live, you probably have rights like:

  • See your data – download everything we have about you
  • Fix stuff – correct any wrong information
  • Delete it all – wipe your data from our systems
  • Pause processing – tell us to stop using your data for certain things
  • Change your mind – withdraw permission you've given us

Want to use any of these rights? Just email us at contact@reasonabletech.co. We'll get back to you within 30 days (usually much faster).

Third-Party Data Processors

We work with trusted partners to help run our service. Here are the main processors that handle your data:

  • Anthropic – powers our Claude-based AI code assistance and chat features
  • GitHub – when you connect your GitHub account for repository integration
  • Linear – when you connect Linear for issue tracking integration
  • Cloud infrastructure providers – host our services and store data securely
  • Payment processors – handle billing and subscription payments

We also use various development and operational tools that may process limited technical data to help us maintain and improve our service. All partners are bound by strict data protection agreements and can only use your data to provide services to us—not for their own purposes.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We take security seriously—encryption, access controls, regular security check-ups, the works. But let's be real: nothing is 100% hack-proof. We do our absolute best to protect your stuff, but we can't promise perfection (nobody can).

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your data as long as you're using our service. If you decide to leave us (we'll miss you!), we'll delete most of your information. Some stuff we might need to keep for legal reasons, but we'll anonymize what we can.

Kids and Privacy

Our platform isn't designed for kids under 16. If you're a parent and think your child has shared information with us, let us know immediately and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

Sometimes we need to update this policy—new features, legal changes, that sort of thing. When we make big changes, we'll email you or show you a notice in the app before they take effect.
